Atma Linga at the Shiva Temple

The living union of Shiva and Shakti — pure, awakened presence

Atma Linga Visitor Guidelines

A space of silence, respect, and conscious presence

The Atma linga carries a living, awakened presence.
Your meeting happens within, in stillness.

In the presence of the Atma linga, it is the inner silence that responds.

Entering the space

• Approach the linga quietly and with a calm mind.
• If you wish, make a gentle bow or offer a silent prayer.
• Pause for a moment and allow your inner silence to settle.

How to be near the linga

• You may stand or sit before the linga in silence.
• You may hold gratitude or prayer softly in your heart.
• You may join a short service by following the pujari.
• A flower may be placed on the offering plate only with the pujari’s guidance.

Thus the space can remain open, quiet, and sacred.

Practices not performed here

To preserve the purity and protection of the linga’s energy:
• The linga and its base are not touched.
• Nothing is poured onto the linga.
• No pastes or ashes are applied.
• Mantras are not chanted independently.
• No personal rituals are performed, and one does not walk around the linga.

These principles safeguard the stillness and integrity of this sacred presence.

The role of the pujari

All ritual actions — abhiseka, aarti, and mantras — are performed only by the pujari.

The pujari:
holds the ritual energy in purity,
guides visitors gently and clearly,
maintains the harmony and sacred stillness of the space.

If you wish to participate in a service or have questions, please speak with the pujari.

Prayers and mantras

• The inner mantra at the Atma linga is only Om Namaḥ Śivāya.
• Longer prayers or personal mantras are best practiced away from the altar, in quiet solitude.

Children and groups

• Children are welcome to visit the linga accompanied by an adult.
• For group visits, please let us know in advance, so we can prepare accordingly.

Around the Atma linga is a space

where silence opens inner clarity
and presence becomes natural.

Thank you for holding this space  - in peace, respect, and recognition.
