Navaratri means nine nights and days when attention turns toward inner awakening. In the Agastya Siddha–Tantra lineage, the emphasis is not only on the outer forms of the goddesses, but on the reality that Shakti and Shiva are an inseparable unity. Shakti is not an independent force, but the power of life and awareness, always functioning together with Shiva – the silent and eternal source.

These nine days are nine inner steps, each day revealing a quality through which the power within us unfolds. The rituals – pūjā, homa, mantras – are not mere external customs, but tools that direct our awareness inward, where true transformation takes place. If we know how to see, every flame, every mantra, every offering reflects the inner movement of purification and clarity.

According to the Agastya lineage, during Navaratri the inner energy channels (nāḍīs) are cleansed and opened, allowing Shakti to move more freely, bringing greater awareness, peace, and capability. Navaratri is an inner journey, step by step bringing us closer to our source.

When all the necessary aspects have been awakened over the nine days, then on Vijayadaśamī – literally “the victorious tenth day” – it is not so much outer victories that are celebrated, but the return of Shakti to Shiva. It is the recognition that power and consciousness are always one, that everything we were seeking is already present within us.

Thus, in the Agastya Siddha–Tantra view, Navaratri is a time for inner practice, awakening, and direct experience of unity. It is an opportunity to return to our true essence, to recognize oneness, and to discover the power that has always been hidden within.
