On the sixth day of Navaratri, we invoke Goddess Kātyāyanī, the fierce and protective form of Shakti. Through the sacred yagya, we call forth her blessings for inner strength, courage, and the power to overcome negativity and obstacles on the spiritual path.
Day 6 – Sat, Sept 27 Kātyāyanī
Color: Grey / Green
Focus: Kātyāyanī is the goddess of powerful energy and protection, embodying determination and fearlessness. She is honored as the awakener of feminine power and defender against injustice. The day emphasizes awakening inner strength and protection, and affirming feminine power.
Daily Mantra: Om Devyai Kātyāyanyai Namaḥ
Ceremonies:
Morning: 07:10–08:40 Kātyāyanī pūjā with Guru and Gaṇeśa pūjā, and Śiva abhiṣeka
Midday: 12:46–13:34 Abhijit homa (Shakti homa for awakening protection)
Evening: 19:00–20:30 Kātyāyanī yagya
