Day 8 – Mon, Sept 29 Mahāgaurī
Color: Peacock Green / Purple
Focus: Mahāgaurī symbolizes purification, clarity, and inner liberation. In the Shakta tradition, this day celebrates Devi’s victory over Mahishasura. In the Siddha–tantra lineage, the emphasis is on inner triumph: the complete dissolution of inner shadows and limitations in the light of Shakti. The day emphasizes deep purification and the beginning of the awakening of siddhis (spiritual powers).
Daily Mantra: Om Devyai Mahāgauryai Namaḥ
Ceremonies:
Morning: 07:15–08:45 Mahāgaurī pūjā with Guru and Gaṇeśa pūjā, and Śiva abhiṣeka
Midday: 12:46–13:33 Abhijit homa (great homa – Devi mūlamantra + Rudram, to affirm inner triumph)
