Abisheka and Puja -
Personal Temple Ritual

A ritual for inner purification, balance, and blessings

What is abhiṣeka and puja?

Abhiṣeka and puja are ancient Vedic temple rituals performed before sacred murtis, the forms of the divine.

Abhiṣeka is a preparatory flow in which water acts as a carrier of consciousness, creating the condition in which inner purification and change can take place naturally. Puja is the ceremony that follows, moving into a deeper inner space. Together they form a single whole – a ritual performed by a trained pujari with mantras, fire, and offerings of flowers, in full focus and reverence.

How does the ritual work?

The pujari follows a precise system, selecting which murtis to approach during the ritual based on your situation. Every puja begins with the primary murtis, which establish clarity, presence and inner connection — and are equally suited for simply receiving support and blessing. Additional murtis are called upon as needed: in times of tension or crisis, those that bring calm and stability; when seeking clarity, facing obstacles or a loss of rhythm, those that support the opening of movement and the restoration of natural balance.

The ritual holds a space where awareness is no longer bound to the pattern that created the tension, confusion or obstacle — and where change can unfold naturally.

Which puja to choose?

A puja can be requested at any time — for yourself or for someone close to you. You do not need to know the exact form of the ritual. Simply choose the direction that best reflects your current situation, and if you wish, add a personal description in your own words. Based on this, the appropriate abhiṣeka and puja will be performed at the temple.

  • I seek clarity – confusion, indecision or a need to see how to move forward

  • I seek peace and balance – tension, anxiety or inner restlessness

  • I am in a difficult situation – illness, loss, crisis or a major life change

  • I wish to move forward – life feels stuck or recurring obstacles keep arising

  • I wish to restore my rhythm – things feel disconnected, focus is scattered or life no longer flows naturally

  • I seek support and blessing – a special occasion, a new beginning or a general wish to feel held and supported

  • I wish to describe my situation – add a personal note at the time of booking

Participation – in person or from a distance

You can take part in a puja in two ways:
• by being present at the temple during the ritual
• or from a distance, regardless of location

The ritual is performed on your behalf, as if you were present yourself.

All that is needed is your sincere intention.
